The amphitheatre<\/strong> remains one of the most striking sites. Easily accessible, it gives an idea of the city\u2019s importance in Roman times and now hosts events. <\/p>

Remains of the aqueduct can also be seen in various places. Even though they are only partially preserved, they provide an insight into how the town was organised at the time. <\/p>

These areas are home to a rich variety of marine life: fish, groupers, octopuses and other Mediterranean species thrive in a pristine environment. The area around Fr\u00e9jus and Saint-Rapha\u00ebl also offers the chance to venture away from the coast and explore some of the Var\u2019s traditional villages.<\/p>

Roquebrune-sur-Argens, just a few kilometres away, is often the first stop. The village is dominated by its famous rock and also provides access to the Argens Gorges. <\/p>

A little further on, Tourtour \u2013 nicknamed \u201cthe village in the sky\u201d \u2013 offers unobstructed views across the entire region. Its narrow streets and shaded squares make it a pleasant place to stop for a break. <\/p>

On the Gulf of Saint-Tropez side, Gassin offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean. Finally, the more low-key Seillans charms visitors with its Proven\u00e7al atmosphere and its small, flower-filled squares. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Est\u00e9rel massif is the perfect destination for nature lovers. With its many trails, it\u2019s ideal for hiking, mountain biking and trail running. <\/p>

What makes this mountain range so distinctive is its red rock, which contrasts beautifully with the blue of the Mediterranean. There are several viewpoints well worth a visit, including Cap Dramont<\/strong>, Pic de l\u2019Ours <\/strong>and Mont Vinaigre<\/strong>. <\/p>

The old town centre of Saint-Rapha\u00ebl, formerly known as the Quartier du Village, retains a more traditional atmosphere. It features narrow streets, small squares and a daily market where flowers and local produce are sold side by side. <\/p>

The 12th-century Church of San Raf\u00e9u is one of the oldest buildings in the town. Its presbytery now houses the archaeological museum. <\/p>

You can also climb to the top of the tower to enjoy a 360\u00b0 panoramic view. The view stretches from the Est\u00e9rel mountains to the sea, taking in the lakes and the Roquebrune rock. <\/p>
